Manila, Philippines — In a thrilling start to the UAAP Season 87 volleyball finals, National University (NU) emerged victorious over De La Salle University in Game 1, taking a significant step toward defending their championship title. Under the leadership of Coach Sherwin Meneses, NU secured the win with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 13-25, and 25-17. This victory marks a milestone for Meneses, who is navigating his first finals series as head coach.

The highly anticipated match, held in Manila, drew a crowd of 15,192 spectators, emphasizing the intense support and competitive spirit surrounding the finals.
