Dallas officer shoots man carrying two knives in DeSoto, killing him

DALLAS, Texas –A 26-year-old man was shot and killed by police after he charged at officers with knives in Desoto.

The incident occurred after Armstrong made a 911 call, claiming he was armed and intended to harm law enforcement.

According to the DeSoto Police Department, Armstrong was holding a knife in each hand when officers arrived at the scene, located in the 1000 block of Hunter’s Creek Drive.

As officers approached, Armstrong reportedly charged towards them, ignoring repeated orders to halt and drop his weapons. An officer then fired a single shot, hitting Armstrong in the chest.

Emergency medical measures were immediately taken, but Armstrong was pronounced dead upon arrival at Central Methodist Hospital.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave as per department policy.
