An 18-year-old man is currently facing serious charges after being accused of intentionally hitting a North Texas resident with his car. The incident left the victim, aged 25, in the intensive care unit of a local hospital with multiple broken bones. The suspect, identified as Mahey Mohammed, was apprehended by Wylie police soon after the event, following an investigation that suggested the act was deliberate.

The police were called to the scene at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, at the intersection of Ray Hubbard Way and Richland Chambers Court. Responding officers found the injured man in a critical condition, having suffered significant injuries from being struck by a vehicle. Witnesses at the scene reported that the vehicle involved was a white Dodge Charge.

Upon being located by the police later, Mohammed reportedly confessed to being the driver of the car that struck the victim. Statements from the police reveal that the suspect used the vehicle as a weapon, leading to serious charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon being filed against him.

The circumstances leading to the incident have not been fully revealed by authorities, although it is understood that an argument preceded the attack. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to gather more details about what transpired between the driver and the victim before the event.

The arrest of Mohammed followed quickly after the incident. Police officers tracked him down while he was driving to his home. He was subsequently taken into custody without reported resistance. Police have stated that they are continuing to gather evidence and are reaching out to anyone who may have witnessed the event to come forward.

The community in Wylie has reacted with shock to the occurrence. The incident has drawn attention due to the young age of the suspect and the severity of the victim’s injuries. Residents in the area have expressed concern over safety and the apparent use of a vehicle as a weapon in what police have described as an intentional act.

The legal proceedings surrounding Mohammed’s case are expected to commence soon, although a specific court date has not been publicly announced. The charges he faces are serious and could carry significant penalties if he is found guilty.

The victim’s condition remains critical, and he is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. Hospital authorities have not released detailed information about his prognosis. Friends and family have requested privacy while he recovers.
