MANILA, Philippines– Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone announced that there is no immediate urgency for basketball player Kai Sotto to rejoin the national team following his recovery from an ACL injury.

Sotto suffered the injury last January during a B.League match, which affected his playing time. Although nearing full recovery, Cone emphasized that Sotto will not be rushed back into active competition.

Cone expressed confidence in Sotto’s future contributions to the team, expecting him to continue playing for Gilas Pilipinas up to age 35.

Sotto will join the national team’s trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the 2025 Asia Cup but will not take part in practice sessions or games during the tournament.
