The Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines stated on Thursday that Filipinos do not need to fulfill any extra requirements to benefit from the “Zero Billing” policy in 87 DOH-operated hospitals nationwide.
The DOH clarified that the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is not imposing any additional documentation for patients to access the “Zero Billing” policy, also referred to as the “No Balance Billing” policy, at any DOH-run hospital.
The agency emphasized that no interviews are necessary because all Filipinos are PhilHealth members under the Universal Health Care Law.
This clarification addresses concerns regarding the accessibility of the “Zero Billing” policy for the general public.
The DOH reassured that the policy aims to ensure that Filipinos can receive healthcare services without incurring additional costs.
The “Zero Billing” policy is part of the government’s initiative to improve healthcare access and reduce financial burdens on patients.
