San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg announced Monday that he is expanding his campaign for Bexar County judge, emphasizing his eight years of experience leading the city as preparation for countywide responsibilities.

Nirenberg highlighted his work at City Hall on public safety, transportation, economic development, and public health as relevant experience for overseeing county government operations, presiding over Commissioners Court, and managing the county budget.

He said his campaign will focus on infrastructure, justice system operations, access to public services, and financial management, noting continuity between his city leadership and the county judge role.

Nirenberg plans to meet with community groups, neighborhood leaders, and business organizations across Bexar County and present his record on regional transportation planning, emergency response coordination, and collaboration with surrounding municipalities.

He said he will discuss public safety policy, economic initiatives, neighborhood programs, property taxes, court system efficiency, and delivery of county health and human services, using campaign events, public forums, and direct outreach to explain how his city experience applies to county responsibilities.

Nirenberg added that he will formally outline his campaign platform in upcoming public statements and events, and he intends to engage both San Antonio residents and voters living elsewhere in Bexar County.
