JERUSALEM, Israel — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said Israel remains ready to resume military action against Iran despite a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States, stating that Israel will pursue its objectives through agreement or renewed fighting.

Netanyahu said in a televised statement that Israel is prepared to return to combat at any time and described the pause as part of an ongoing campaign.

He said Iran entered the ceasefire weakened and added that Israel still aims to achieve its military objectives.

Netanyahu said the ceasefire, which took effect Tuesday night, was coordinated with Israel and did not come as a surprise to the government.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized the truce and called it a “diplomatic disaster,” saying the government had not met its war objectives.

Netanyahu has identified limiting Iran’s nuclear program and reducing its missile capabilities as key goals, along with weakening Iran’s regional influence.

In his statement, Netanyahu said Israeli operations destroyed missile stockpiles and production facilities and damaged nuclear infrastructure, including centrifuge sites. He added that Israel targeted financial and weapons production networks linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

He said Israeli forces also struck industrial and transport infrastructure and carried out operations against Iranian operatives.

Netanyahu cited coordination with the United States and described the joint military effort as a large-scale operation in the region.

He said operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon would continue and are not covered by the ceasefire. He added that Israeli forces conducted strikes on multiple targets and would continue efforts to weaken the group.

The Israeli military said later on Wednesday that it continues operations aimed at disarming Hezbollah.
