MANILA, Philippines– The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recommended the filing of criminal charges against Vice President Sara Duterte for alleged threats made against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The charges stem from statements Duterte made during an online press conference in November of the previous year.
According to the NBI’s findings, Duterte’s remarks could be construed as inciting sedition and issuing threats against high-ranking government officials.
