Suns hire Jordan Ott as new head coach

PHOENIX, Arizona—The Phoenix Suns have decided to hire Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Jordan Ott as their next head coach in the NBA, as reported by ESPN on Wednesday.

The Suns selected Ott over the Cavaliers’ associate head coach Johnnie Bryant for the position.

Jordan Ott and Johnnie Bryant both met with Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia, CEO Josh Bartelstein, and new general manager Brian Gregory in Michigan on Tuesday.

According to ESPN, Suns star Devin Booker played a role in the latter stages of the hiring process, ultimately recommending Ott for the head coach position.

The decision to hire Ott marks a significant step in the Suns’ efforts to finalize their coaching staff for the upcoming NBA season.
