OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City Thunder guard and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander confirmed Sunday that he and his family are safe following a reported break-in at his Oklahoma City-area home last week.

The incident occurred while Gilgeous-Alexander was playing in a home game. Local authorities are investigating and have not released information about possible suspects or the extent of the property damage.

Gilgeous-Alexander said his family’s safety was his primary concern and expressed gratitude that no one was harmed. He also thanked fans and community members for their messages of support.

The Thunder organization has not issued additional comments regarding the incident. Security measures at the residence are being reviewed.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate and have asked anyone with information about the break-in to contact local authorities.

Gilgeous-Alexander remains active with the team as the Thunder continue their regular season schedule.
