Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook underwent surgery on his right hand to repair multiple ligament tears on Tuesday. The procedure was performed by Dr. Steven Shin at the Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center.

Westbrook confirmed the surgery earlier the same day through his “Word of Westbrook” newsletter, stating it addressed two breaks in his right hand sustained during the NBA season. The injury had limited his performance in recent games.

The Denver Nuggets announced that Westbrook is expected to resume full offseason training this summer. His recovery will include physical therapy and rehabilitation, with the team closely monitoring his progress.

Westbrook signed a two-year contract with the Nuggets and is expected to be a key contributor to the team in the upcoming NBA season. The team expressed confidence in his recovery and looks forward to his participation in full training.
