Dallas Mavericks officials announced Thursday in Dallas that guard Dante Exum, 30, will miss the entire 2025-2026 NBA season after he undergoes a second surgery on his right knee, which developed complications from an offseason procedure that followed his re-signing with the team on a one-year free-agent contract.
Team representatives said doctors recommended the additional surgery on Exum’s right knee after they detected issues during his recovery and evaluation period.
The Mavericks stated that Exum’s operation will take place in the coming days under the supervision of team medical personnel and outside specialists.
The organization said Exum will immediately begin a structured rehabilitation program following the procedure.
Team officials indicated that Exum had entered the offseason with plans to contribute significant backcourt minutes in the upcoming campaign.
The Mavericks said they will update Exum’s status as needed during his recovery.
