Multiple people were airlifted after a major traffic crash on U.S. Highway 277 East in Eagle Pass, Texas. Emergency crews responded to reports of several individuals being ejected from vehicles during the collision.

The crash caused heavy traffic congestion on the highway. Air medical units transported severely injured victims to trauma facilities, while others were taken to local hospitals. Authorities have not released the number of injured individuals.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and Eagle Pass Police Department secured the scene and redirected traffic to alternate routes while investigators examined the crash site. Motorists were urged to avoid the area due to delays.

The highway remained partially closed as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash and assess factors that led to the ejections.

No fatalities have been confirmed. Authorities said updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
