Boxing icons Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have reached an agreement to face each other in an exhibition fight in spring 2026, promoter CSI Sports announced Thursday.
Tyson, now 59, is remembered as one of the most dominant heavyweights of his era, compiling a 50-7 record with 44 knockouts. His most recent outing was an exhibition against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in November 2024, where he struggled but still drew a live crowd of 70,000 and millions of viewers worldwide.
Mayweather, 48, retired in 2017 with an unblemished 50-0 record, having captured titles in five weight classes. Since then, he has stayed active in exhibition bouts, including a win over John Gotti III in Mexico in 2024.
“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather I thought, ‘No way this happens,’” Tyson said in a statement. “But Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
