President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited Negros Occidental on Saturday to inspect areas affected by Typhoon Tino, assess community damage, and meet evacuees staying in temporary shelters.

Marcos arrived in the province in the morning and proceeded to localities where strong winds and heavy rains damaged houses, public facilities, and agricultural zones. Local officials briefed him on the extent of the destruction, the number of displaced families, and the status of response operations in the hardest-hit barangays.

The President spoke with evacuees in designated evacuation centers and asked them about their access to food, water, medical services, and other essential needs. Response teams from national agencies and local government units reported on relief distribution efforts and the restoration of power, communication, and transportation services.

Marcos instructed concerned agencies to coordinate with provincial and municipal officials to speed up assistance for affected residents and prioritize repairs to critical infrastructure.
