A Texas philanthropist will partner with the San Antonio Food Bank in December 2025 to expand food assistance for children and families during the holiday season.
Harvey E. Najim will support food distribution efforts in San Antonio and nearby communities served by the food bank, with a focus on households with children affected by school closures during the holidays.
The San Antonio Food Bank will manage food purchasing and distribution through its existing network of partner agencies, mobile pantries and community sites. Najim’s financial support will allow the organization to increase the volume of child-focused food packages during December.
Eligible families will receive food boxes containing shelf-stable items, fresh produce and protein when available. Distribution schedules will take place before and during the school holiday period.
The food bank will identify priority areas using client data and referrals from schools and social service organizations. Outreach efforts will inform families of distribution dates and locations through school districts and community partners.
