WASHINGTON — Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have released previously unseen photographs of Jeffrey Epstein’s private island as part of an expanding House investigation into the late financier’s banking activities and network of associates.
Democratic members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Thursday made public a set of images depicting various areas of Little Saint James, Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The release accompanied the committee’s ongoing review of banking documents recently obtained from financial institutions and corporate service providers.
The newly published photographs are being reviewed alongside the financial records. Committee staff are cross-referencing dates, locations and structures shown in the images with spending entries for construction, maintenance and transportation that appear in Epstein’s ledgers and banking statements.
Little Saint James has long been central to multiple civil suits and criminal investigations involving Epstein. Authorities have previously searched the island and documented its facilities. The newly released images add to the public archive with close-up and wide-angle views of buildings, docks, landscaped areas and other infrastructure.
The committee is also gathering testimony from individuals knowledgeable about Epstein’s finances and property management, comparing witness accounts with written records and the visual materials now on file.
The Oversight Committee continues to coordinate with other government bodies that have conducted related inquiries. Members have not set a deadline for completing the review, and further public releases of documents or images may follow as the investigation progresses.
