MANILA, Philippines– Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is set to resume its investigation into alleged irregularities in multi-billion-peso flood control projects on November 14, provided he is re-elected as committee chair on November 10.

Lacson confirmed that the proceedings will feature what he described as a “very important witness” expected to provide key information on the alleged misuse of funds.

The probe initially examined questions surrounding the allocation and implementation of flood control projects in multiple regions.

The committee paused the hearings pending the re-election of its chair. Lacson stressed that the inquiry seeks to ensure accountability and transparency in the handling of public funds assigned to flood mitigation efforts.
