MANILA, Philippines — After a six-week hospital stay and a minor surgery, Kris Aquino has been discharged and moved into her new home. The Queen of All Media expressed gratitude to her former boyfriend, Dr. Mike Padlan, for assisting her during her battle with 11 autoimmune diseases.
In an Instagram post on February 9, Aquino said Padlan was “literally one call away” on Christmas Day and helped connect her with the right doctors.
“My former boyfriend, who was literally one call away on Dec. 25 and 26 and facilitated my confinement, Dr. Mike Padlan — I AM FOREVER INDEBTED BECAUSE WITHOUT HIM, I WOULD NO LONGER BE HERE,” she wrote.
While their romantic relationship did not continue, Aquino said they maintained a strong bond as “physician and patient.”
“We didn’t work as a couple, BUT we do work as physician and patient because Dr. Mike knows me and how my body works; he has seen and continues to witness me at my weakest and instinctively knows which doctors I will get along with,” she added, listing the medical teams that supported her throughout her stay.
Aquino and Padlan were in a relationship in 2024 but broke up in early 2025.
She also shared that she is settling into a new home, though she did not disclose its location.
“We are finally settling into our new HOME straight from the hospital after six rollercoaster weeks. I am so very grateful to all of you for your continued prayers and well wishes,” Aquino said.
Despite improvements in her health, Aquino described herself as “super lampa” (frail) and careful to avoid any fractures. She added that she plans to discuss her health challenges in her upcoming podcast, once she receives medical clearance.
“When I discuss my current health issues, my Ate sometimes reminds me not to scare my followers because they want to see a happy and hopeful Kris,” she said.
Aquino thanked her supporters for their love and prayers, calling it “one of the purest and most meaningful acts of love.”
Last December, Aquino’s surgery was delayed due to high blood pressure. Earlier this month, she revealed she is also managing deep vein thrombosis along with her autoimmune conditions.
