SAN ANTONIO, Texas– The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has issued a public warning regarding reports of unlicensed paving contractors operating in the area.

These individuals, referred to in reports as “gypsy pavers,” have been approaching homes without prior contact and offering discounted paving services using claimed leftover materials.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, these individuals typically offer to pave driveways or perform asphalt work at reduced rates.

Reports indicate that the individuals in question sometimes perform incomplete or low-quality work, or leave without completing the services after receiving payment.

The Sheriff’s Office advises residents to avoid entering agreements with unlicensed contractors and to refrain from making payments before services are rendered.

Officials have asked community members to report suspicious activity related to these offers. The Sheriff’s Office has provided a contact number, (830) 249-9721, for inquiries or reports concerning suspected scams.
