MANILA, Philippines — Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo fell short of the podium in his senior debut at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, finishing seventh in the men’s horizontal bar final on Sunday.
The 18-year-old, younger brother of double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, scored 13.033 points in the eight-man field.
Chinese Taipei’s Tang Chia-Hung, a bronze medalist at the Paris Olympics, captured the gold with 15.366 points, while Kazakhstan’s Karimi Milad earned silver at 15.033 points. Colombia’s Barajas Angel rounded out the podium with bronze at 14.400 points.
This marked Yulo’s second final of the competition, after he placed sixth in the floor exercise earlier in the tournament. Despite the results, the young gymnast gained valuable experience competing against seasoned international athletes in his first senior World Cup campaign.
