HOUSTON, Texas– The county commissioners approved nearly $900,000 reimbursement for legal expenses incurred in a case involving Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and her staff.

This development followed the dropping of charges against two former members of Hidalgo’s team, while a third staffer still faces charges but has made agreements to resolve them after completing community service obligations.

Hidalgo stated that the case was politically motivated, describing the actions of the former district attorney as a misuse of power and asserting the innocence of her team.

She also emphasized the burden the charges placed on her and her staff.

Former District Attorney Kim Ogg defended her actions, stating that the investigations were necessary and conducted in good faith as part of efforts to combat public corruption.

She emphasized the need for accountability in public office and reinforced the importance of transparency and justice.
