MANILA — Actor Joseph Bitangcol defended his former girlfriend, singer-actress Sandara Park, amid recent drug-related allegations, calling the claims “impossible.”
Bitangcol emphasized that Park has always prioritized her career and family, noting, “She grew up focusing on family and career. I’m sure she wouldn’t do that. She couldn’t even take cigarettes, what more drugs? I’m 100% sure she wouldn’t do that.”
The controversy began when 2NE1 bandmate Park Bom suggested that Park was made a scapegoat to cover up Bom’s own alleged drug use. Park quickly denied the claims and wished Bom well.
Bitangcol and Park, who met on the first season of the talent search show Star Circle Quest, dated for three years before parting ways when Park returned to South Korea to train as a K-pop idol.
Bitangcol also shared updates on his own career, saying he remains active in acting while balancing married life, having appeared in TV dramas, most recently the 2022 Kapuso series Tadhana, and in theater productions.
