Johnny Manahan exits GMA, set to join TV5

Veteran television executive Johnny Manahan, widely known as “Mr. M,” has left GMA Network and is expected to join TV5.

GMA Network confirmed his departure, expressing appreciation for his contributions since he joined the company in 2020. Reports indicate that Manahan is finalizing a contract with TV5, though no official signing has been announced.

Manahan is recognized as one of the most influential figures in Philippine entertainment, having led talent development and directed numerous successful television programs. Before his stint at GMA, he played a major role at ABS-CBN, where he helped launch the careers of many prominent artists.

Sources familiar with the matter said discussions between Manahan and TV5 are ongoing. TV5 is reportedly seeking to strengthen its creative and talent management divisions as part of its network expansion.

GMA Network thanked Manahan for his service and wished him well in his future endeavors. Industry analysts view his move as a significant development that could influence programming strategies across major networks.
