MANILA, Philippines– Senator Jinggoy Estrada filed perjury charges against former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) engineer Brice Hernandez on Thursday after Hernandez implicated him in alleged flood control irregularities.

Estrada submitted the complaints to the Department of Justice, asserting that Hernandez made false statements that damaged his reputation. The senator denied all allegations and called the claims baseless.

The perjury case follows Hernandez’s accusations linking Estrada to anomalies in flood control projects. The Department of Justice will evaluate the complaints in the coming weeks. Hernandez has not issued a public response, and the DPWH has declined to comment.

Estrada urged a thorough investigation into the matter and stressed the need for accountability in public service.
