Pilot Jasmine Omay has departed for India to represent the Philippines in the 2025 Universal Woman competition, originally scheduled for June in Jaipur, India.

Organizers postponed the event due to retaliatory missile attacks by India on a Pakistani-controlled area of the Kashmir region.

Universal Woman organization announced in May that the decision prioritized the safety and wellbeing of candidates, national directors, and team members.

Omay was appointed as the Philippines’ representative four months ago after replacing Sophia Bianca Santos, who did not meet the age requirement. Omay, who was the First Princess in the 2024 Miss World Philippines pageant, now aims for a back-to-back win for the country.
