MADRID — Jannik Sinner won the Madrid Open 2026 men’s singles title on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, at the Caja Mágica.
Sinner won his first Madrid Open title and extended his winning streak to 23 matches. He also became the first male player to win five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 events.
Sinner converted all four break points in the match and did not face a break point against his serve. He previously reached Masters 1000 titles in Monte Carlo, Miami, Indian Wells, and Paris.
Zverev, who has previously won the Madrid Open in 2018 and 2021, said after the match that he played below his standard and acknowledged Sinner’s recent dominance in the tournament series.
Sinner said he credited his performance to consistent preparation and support from his team. He said he will compete next at the Rome Masters, where he has not yet won a title.
The Madrid Open is part of the ATP Masters 1000 series, a top-tier group of tournaments on the men’s professional tennis circuit.
