LOS ANGELES — James Foley, a renowned American director known for his work on films such as Glengarry Glen Ross and the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels, passed away this week at the age of 71.

Foley died at his home in Los Angeles following a yearlong battle with brain cancer, confirmed by his representative, Taylor Lomax of ID.

Foley’s career spanned several decades, with notable contributions to both film and television. He directed the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels in 2017 and 2018, and was also behind the camera for the popular TV series House of Cards from 2013 to 2018.
