At least 21 people have been reported dead and at least 28 are injured in a tent camp in Gaza following the recent airstrike of the Israeli forces.

Atif Al-Hout, the director of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, confirmed the death toll and reported injuries.

The Israeli Defense Forces stated that the attack was aimed at senior Hamas figures involved in terrorist activities.

The Israeli military has not provided further details about the identities of the targeted individuals.

The strike took place in Deir Al-Balah, a central area in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli authorities have defended their actions by highlighting the presence of explosives in the targeted area, which they say triggered secondary explosions.

This claim, however, remains unverified by independent sources and has led to skepticism about the strike’s intentions.

The camp is considered a humanitarian zone, which has faced previous attacks amidst the ongoing conflict.

This event is the latest in a series of military actions by Israel as part of its ongoing offensive in Gaza, initiated in response to the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas militants.

According to Israeli sources, Hamas operatives were responsible for the assault, which resulted in significant civilian casualties and hostage-taking.

The war that followed has claimed thousands of lives, predominantly women and children, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
