Swiatek stated that women’s matches should be considered equally in terms of entertainment value and scheduling. Her comments came after her third-round victory over Jaqueline Cristian.
Tournament director Amelie Mauresmo previously responded to the issue, rejecting suggestions that current scheduling implies women are not suitable for prime-time slots.
