The survey asked families to rate their satisfaction with their children’s individual schools and with the district’s overall direction.
Houston ISD officials stated that families rated their own schools with overwhelming favorability across most categories.
Parents gave positive ratings on measures such as school climate, communication, and relationships with teachers and campus staff.
Survey data showed that respondents expressed less confidence in the overall direction of the district than in their individual campuses.
The district reported that parents identified preparedness as the lowest-ranking category among all measures in the survey.
Preparedness scores reflected family views on how well Houston ISD schools prepare students for future academic, career, and life opportunities.
Houston ISD officials said they would use the survey findings to help guide planning and decision-making at both the campus and district levels.
