HOUSTON, Texas — The City of Houston will hold a series of public meetings to discuss its proposed allocation of $315 million in federal disaster recovery funds awarded after three disasters in 2024, according to the Houston Housing Department.

Officials stated that the meetings will take place at various locations across the city to ensure public access. The Houston Housing Department will present details of the current spending proposal and collect community input to inform revisions to the plan.

The proposal currently excludes funding for approximately 4,000 homes affected by the 2024 storms. City officials said they will consider adjustments to the plan based on feedback received during the meetings.

The city plans to align the recovery efforts with long-term resilience goals and broader disaster preparedness strategies. Officials said community feedback will influence both the final spending plan and future planning efforts.

The federal funds are designated to support infrastructure and housing recovery. City leaders said they remain in coordination with state and federal agencies to maximize the impact of the recovery efforts.

Additional information about meeting times and locations is available on the Houston Housing Department’s official website.
