Heavy Rains Cause Severe Flooding in Metro Manila

Metro Manila experienced severe flooding today due to heavy rainfall from Typhoon Carina, which has enhanced the southwest monsoon. The northbound lane of EDSA heading towards Balintawak was particularly affected, with motorists navigating through deep floodwaters.

In Valenzuela City, floodwaters reached gutter level at Barangay Marulas corner McArthur Highway on Tuesday morning, causing significant disruptions.

The situation was dire along the Pasig River in Manila, where strong winds and waves destroyed several houses. Residents were seen salvaging scraps from the debris. The adverse weather had already prompted the evacuation of around 25 families from Isla Puting Bato.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the weather conditions persist.
