Hays County Jail set to wrap up renovations soon

AUSTIN, Texas– Renovations to Hays County Jail in Texas are nearing completion, allowing inmates temporarily housed in another county to potentially return soon.

Authorities commenced the renovation project to enhance facilities and security. The construction crew is finalizing the remaining touches on the renovated areas.

The county aims to improve inmate conditions and expand capacity with these upgrades. Officials expect the completed renovations to alleviate overcrowding in nearby detention centers.

The project included updates to security systems, living quarters, and communal spaces. County representatives have not yet specified a return date for the inmates.

The county has collaborated with various contractors to ensure the project’s timely completion. Hays County Jail’s updated infrastructure aims to meet the current standards for correctional facilities.
