Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to enforce new age restrictions on hemp products containing THC across the state.

Under the policy, DPS troopers will allow only individuals aged 21 and older to purchase these products.

The Texas Department of State Health Services will conduct future inspections to ensure compliance with the new standards.

State officials said the regulations aim to limit children’s access to hemp products and strengthen public safety.
