Houston will host its first-ever Fleet Week in April, five months later than originally planned. The event, which honors the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard, was initially scheduled for Nov. 5-12, 2025 but was postponed due to the historic federal government shutdown that ended Nov. 13.

City officials announced the new dates: April 15-22, 2026. The celebration is expected to bring over 1,000 Marines, sailors, and Coast Guard members to Houston, with activities including ship tours and other public experiences.

Originally, the November event would have coincided with the 250th birthdays of the Marine Corps and Navy, but the rescheduled dates now align with the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding.

The event is a collaboration between the City of Houston, the Port of Houston, and other local partners, marking the first Fleet Week in Texas history.
