Fire breaks out at DPWH compound in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines– A fire erupted inside the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) compound in Quezon City on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) confirmed the incident and deployed personnel for traffic assistance around the affected area.

Fire crews from nearby stations rushed to the compound after receiving initial alerts. The cause of the blaze has not yet been identified. Fire officials have not reported any injuries or fatalities linked to the incident.

Assessments on structural damage are ongoing. DPWH officials intend to conduct a full investigation to determine what triggered the fire. 

DPWH and the local fire department have started coordinated efforts to establish the fire’s point of origin and gather additional information.
