Filipino cue masters Biado, Regalario battle in semis for World Pool final spot

Carlo Biado and Bernie Regalario will face each other in the semifinals of the World Pool Championship on Saturday night at Green Halls in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Biado secured his spot by defeating Jeffrey Ignacio 11-9 in the round-of-16 and followed it up with a victory over Ko Ping Chung of Chinese-Taipei, 11-7, in the quarterfinals.

Biado is aiming to win the championship again, having previously claimed the title in 2017.

Regalario, a 20-year-old player, advanced to the semifinals by overcoming Patric Gonzales 11-9 and Spain’s Francisco Sanchez Ruiz 11-4.

This matchup marks a significant milestone for Regalario as he seeks the biggest achievement of his pool career to date.

The winner of the Biado-Regalario match will advance to the final to face the winner of the other semifinal.
