PENNSYLVANIA — Senator John Fetterman was hospitalized Tuesday evening following a health scare at his home, his office confirmed.

A spokesperson said Fetterman experienced a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up,” which left him light-headed and caused a fall.

Ventricular fibrillation is a serious heart rhythm disturbance that can lead to cardiac arrest if untreated. Fetterman was alert after the fall and received immediate medical attention. He is currently under observation at a nearby medical facility.

Governor Josh Shapiro and colleagues in the Senate expressed concern for Fetterman and wished him a speedy recovery. The senator’s office said his duties will continue uninterrupted as his team manages day-to-day operations.
