FDA recalls eye drops across the U.S., including San Antonio area

SAN ANTONIO — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a nationwide recall of more than 3 million containers of eye drops sold at H-E-B and other retailers, citing concerns over sterility.

The recall, classified as a Class II Recall, indicates a risk of temporary or medically reversible health effects, with serious consequences considered unlikely.

Products affected include H-E-B branded eye drops — H-E-B A.C. Eye Drops, H-E-B Lubricant Eye Drops, and H-E-B Original Eye Drops — as well as multiple eye drop products sold at Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart.

The drops were manufactured by K.C. Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. The FDA advises consumers who purchased these products to stop using them immediately.
