The parents of 19-year-old Texas A&M University student Brianna Aguilera on Monday retained the Buzbee Law Firm and the Gamez Law Firm in Austin, Texas, to challenge authorities’ ruling in her death after police found her body on a sidewalk in Austin last week.

Attorneys from the Buzbee Law Firm announced that they will represent Aguilera’s family in coordination with the Gamez Law Firm as they review the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.

Family members requested legal representation after local officials released initial findings on how Aguilera died, which the family now formally disputes through their attorneys.

Lawyers for the Aguilera family stated that they plan to gather additional evidence, seek independent expert review, and examine all official reports related to the incident.

The firms stated that they will release further information as they obtain new details and as investigators complete additional reviews of the case.
