Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Formula One United States Grand Prix on October 18, 2025, hours after claiming victory in the sprint race.

The result marks his seventh pole of the season and strengthens his hold on the championship lead.

Lando Norris of McLaren qualified second, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in third and Mercedes driver George Russell in fourth. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri placed sixth after being affected by a collision in the sprint race earlier in the day.

The race will take place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Analysts are closely tracking the championship battle between Red Bull and McLaren, with Verstappen’s consistency keeping Red Bull ahead in the standings.

Norris expressed optimism about his starting position and hopes to challenge Verstappen for the lead. Leclerc and Russell are also seen as strong contenders for a podium finish.
