Lewis Hamilton on Thursday thanked the Formula One community and the public for their messages of support following the death of his dog, Roscoe.
Hamilton, a seven-time Formula One world champion, said the response had been “quite overwhelming.” He announced earlier this week that he had made the decision to put down Roscoe, his 12-year-old bulldog.
In a statement, Hamilton called the loss “the hardest decision” of his life. He frequently shared photos and videos of Roscoe on social media, where the dog had become popular with fans.
