Christian Horner is pursuing a return to Formula One, contacting multiple team owners, Aston Martin team principal Andy Cowell said Friday during the Singapore Grand Prix.
Cowell stated that Horner has been calling nearly every team owner to explore opportunities within the sport. Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu confirmed that Horner approached the American team about a potential role.
Horner left his position as Red Bull’s F1 team principal after the British Grand Prix and is considering new roles in motorsport. Red Bull announced his departure along with a severance agreement allowing him to pursue other opportunities. Sources indicate Horner received a $100 million payout from Red Bull.
The agreement permits Horner to re-enter Formula One in the first half of 2026. He has been evaluating different options for his return nearly three months after leaving Red Bull, where he led the team for 20 years.
Horner’s departure from Red Bull followed the British Grand Prix in July. Despite his outreach, Cowell said Aston Martin currently has no plans to hire him. Horner’s search for a new role shows his continued interest in Formula One.
Red Bull and key figures in the racing community, including driver Max Verstappen, expressed gratitude for Horner’s contributions during his tenure.
