BANGKOK—Eya Laure said Saturday that she expects to secure medical clearance to return from an abdominal strain and suit up for Alas Pilipinas in its women’s volleyball semifinal match against Vietnam on Sunday at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games at Indoor Stadium Huamark.

Laure explained that she sustained the abdominal strain earlier in the SEA Games volleyball tournament. According to her, team doctors and trainers monitored her condition daily to assess her readiness for the knockout phase.

She noted that she limited her participation in recent team drills and warmups to manage the injury while completing treatment and rehabilitation sessions prescribed through the medical staff.

The Philippines women’s volleyball team included Laure in its active SEA Games roster, and team officials said they expect her to compete against Vietnam once final medical clearance is issued.

Coaches of Alas Pilipinas modified the team’s rotation and practice sessions during recent days to support Laure’s recovery while preparing tactical adjustments for the semifinal.
