Multiple hurt in explosion at Downtown Houston hotel project

An explosion at a hotel construction site in Downtown Houston injured six workers on Thursday.

Officials said the blast involved water heaters and occurred at a site in the city center. Emergency responders arrived to assist and transported the injured workers to nearby hospitals after providing initial treatment.

The construction site was evacuated to ensure worker safety. Authorities have started an investigation to determine what caused the explosion.

The incident caused road closures around the area as emergency teams managed the response. The Houston Fire Department led the operation with support from other emergency agencies.

Officials have not released the names of the injured workers. The company handling the project confirmed cooperation with investigators and expressed concern for the workers.
