Envirotech Vehicles Inc., a major player in the electric vehicle sector, is relocating its corporate headquarters from Osceola, Arkansas, to an expansive new facility in Houston, Texas. This strategic move places Envirotech among a growing list of technology companies seeking the economic and logistical advantages offered by Texas’ business-friendly environment. The 86,000-square-foot facility located at 7510 Ardmore St. will become the epicenter for the company’s corporate leadership, manufacturing, fleet sales, engineering, and service operations.

Envirotech is renowned for its commitment to producing electric, zero-emission vehicles tailored for commercial use. Their product line includes versatile small vans and trucks that have found utility in school districts, universities, and transportation service companies nationwide. Relocating to Houston provides Envirotech with proximity to crucial transportation infrastructure, including major highways and ports, vital for efficient distribution and operational logistics. Additionally, Texas offers a favorable business climate with no corporate income tax, making it an attractive destination for corporations.

Jason Maddox, President and interim CFO of Envirotech, stated that the relocation to Houston is a “natural step” in the company’s evolution. He emphasized that the move will facilitate Envirotech’s ability to support commercial fleet customers across the country, expand its presence in key electric vehicle markets, and attract top industry talent. Houston’s robust infrastructure and the escalating demand for electric commercial vehicles align perfectly with Envirotech’s strategic long-term goals.

Envirotech plans to commence operations in its new Houston facility within the next two months, with an initial production target of 250 vehicles. As operations scale, the facility is expected to increase its manufacturing capacity to 1,200 vehicles annually. This ambitious expansion reflects Envirotech’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions.

The relocation to Houston places Envirotech alongside other prominent companies that have recently made the move to Texas, including data processor ABBYY and education technology firm Simplilearn. These moves underscore a broader trend of companies migrating to regions that offer strategic business advantages and growth potential.

Houston, already recognized as a hub for energy and innovation, provides a fertile ground for Envirotech to advance its mission of transforming the transportation sector through electric vehicles. The city’s infrastructure, coupled with a vibrant business ecosystem, positions Envirotech for continued success in the competitive electric vehicle market.
