MANILA, Philippines — Nicholas Kaufman, legal counsel for former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte, declined to comment on reports that Honeylet Avanceña has been suspended from visiting Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention center in The Hague, Netherlands.

Avanceña, Duterte’s common-law wife, recently claimed that her visitation rights had been suspended, though details surrounding the alleged restriction remain unclear. The claim was made public in connection with her efforts to visit Duterte.

In an interview posted Friday on the “Alvin and Tourism” Facebook page, Kaufman was asked about the legal basis for the reported suspension. He did not confirm or deny the claim and offered no further information.

The ICC’s rules on visitation generally allow family visits, subject to approval and security protocols. Whether Avanceña’s case involves a procedural issue or a formal suspension remains unknown.
