Duterte silent on intel funds, points to impeachment defense

MANILA, Philippines– Vice President Sara Duterte appeared at the House of Representatives in Manila, Philippines, on Tuesday, where she refused to answer questions concerning her confidential fund expenditures.

She cited the preparation for her impeachment trial as the reason for withholding information. The Office of the Vice President has a proposed budget of P902.8 million.

Representative Antonio Tinio questioned Duterte about specific expenditures and disallowances issued by the Commission on Audit.

Duterte stated that such matters are related to the impeachment proceedings and therefore cannot be disclosed.
