MANILA, Philippines– DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon has asked the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct background checks on 14 senior officials following allegations of links to contractors.

The request seeks to determine whether the officials have conflicts of interest or have breached conduct rules. DPWH has not released the names of those under review.

Dizon said the request is part of efforts to uphold integrity and accountability in the department, which has faced past corruption allegations. The NBI has not given a timeline for completing the checks.

The findings will determine whether further action is warranted. The DPWH said the probe will not disrupt ongoing infrastructure projects.
